What is Permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye lining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo.

Here at The Arthur Company Salon, Rhonda Jean is our highly talented and experienced artist who will perform your procedure. Rhonda has been doing permanent makeup applications for ten years and was one of the first licensed professionals in the state of RI. She has taken her artistic eye further than just applying the makeup, to having done amazing restorative work for those who have been injured by accident or marred by defects.

Eyes

Eyeliner can be applied in various styles just as you can draw it on in different ways with an eye liner pencil. Be sure to communicate your preferences such as thin, medium, thick, full line, three quarterline, half line, thicker on outer third, thinner on inner half, etc. Our technician has artistic skill, experience with makeup application, and technical ability with a tattoo machine and will be able to accommodate these permanent eyeliner requests.

*Eyelash enhancement is placement of pigment in the lashline to create the appearance of more eyelashes.

*Lash enhancement gives the natural look of fuller

lashes and is part of the eyeliner procedure or

can be applied without eyeliner.

*Eyeliner can be used to help reshape the eye.

Eye Brows

Eyebrow hair simulation is a technique that resembles individual eyebrow hairs. The fill-in technique produces the solid shaded look you have when using an eyebrow pencil. A brushed on technique looks something in between the two. The graceful upcurve of the outer eyebrow is seen on many of the beautiful models in glamour magazines. Even famous renaissance artists painted faces with the outer brow arch. A graceful, clean arch makes the eyes look bigger, and the face more open and receptive.

This procedure creates a natural appearing brow. The color and shape of the brow can vary to compliment your appearance. Eyebrows are to frame the face.Proper placement of brows open up the eyes and often times actually change the appearance and shape of your face. If you have little, or no eyebrow hair left, you will be amazed with the results.

Lips

Lipcolor can be custom mixed for a shade similar to your favorite lipstick. One procedure typically produces a light/ medium result, two procedures produce a medium/dark result. Results vary depending on color applied and amount of pigment implanted. The final shape of the lip can be altered to make both sides and the top and bottom match better. A shapely cupids bow is the icing on the cake. Lip fullness can be enhanced or minimized by tattooing on the outside or inside of the edge of the lip just as you would draw it with your lip liner pencil.

We only use the highest quality pigments by Premier Pigments! The art of tattooing and permanent makeup have been practiced for centuries. All the pigments that we sell are cosmetic grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use.  Be wary of counterfeit products which have not met safety standards. Clients should advise us if they plan to undergo laser treatment, Botox, dermabrasion, peels, etc. MRIs do not present a problem with Premier’s products.
